Das ist schon unsere 2. Episode unseres Onlinekurs "Meaning Making During a Pandemic" gestartet.
This is already episode 2 of our "Meaning Making During a Pandemic" programme. Together with Abhay Adhikari we want to foster the constant reflection of what we are doing, which digital offers we are currently developing, but also how these can be thought of in a sustainable way, how we want to work and how we as cultural institutions participate in current discussions.
After each episode either Abhay or I will upload a short summary. We will also produce a podcast (produced by Ralph Würschinger) and a comic (designed by Azam Masoumzadeh) for each episode as a summary and insight into our discussions (links below). The weekly comics are produced under great time pressure, which is why mistakes still happen from time to time. At the end we will summarize the comic again and put it online in a revised form.
Episode 2: Well-Being (illustration: Azam Masoumzadeh)
After Abhay hosted the first episode, it was my turn in episode 2. The topic was well-being. I felt it might be a big challenge for our participants. Why? Because well-being is not immediately associated with digital storytelling. Having said that, we wanted to connect digital storytelling to the storyteller and the audience.
In the first part we started with an experiment of a digital mental journey. We were happy to see that our participants got involved in the experiment and were open to discussing the relationship between well-being and inspiration
In the second part, the question was raised to what extent we, as storytellers, are responsible for the well-being of our visitors and recipients, and whether the goal and responsibility in digital storytelling overlap or are to be seen separately. Our guest speaker, Amanda Aronczyk from National Public Radio (NPR), discussed this question of responsibility in presenting a case study to show how the well-being of the audience can be addressed in a podcast.
You can find a summary of our discussions in this podcast and this comic.
