Description Im 18. Jahrhundert waren Porträts in Form von Silhouetten sehr beliebt. Mit einem sogenannten Silhouettenzirkel wurden aufgenommene Schattenrisse auf das gewünschte Format verkleinert.
Dieser kleine, schön gearbeitete Pantograf aus Holz kann auf fünf verschiedene Verkleinerungen umgebaut werden (1 : 2 und vier weitere). Dies geschieht durch Umstecken der zwei flachen weißen Knöpfe in zugehörige Paare von Löchern. Entfernt man die zwei kleinen Arme komplett, lassen sich die langen Schenkel gerade ausrichten und als Zoll-stock verwenden mit einer Skala von [0] bis 12, was einem Fuß entspricht.
Die Formgebung dieses Pantografen ermöglicht es, ihn zusammenzufalten und in einem Etui zu transportieren. (Katja Rasch 2023)

3D Model
This 3D model of the object was created using photogrammetric techniques with a high level of detail. The web view shows a significantly reduced version in terms of resolution and data volume, created using the Smithsonian's open-source 3Dviewer „Voyager“ of Smithsonian. XML data set	We use machine-readable, standardized formats for exchanging and processing data. LIDO-XML is available for data from the object collections. Data from the library is provided as METS/MODS-XML and data from the archive as EAD-XML. Download the XML data set
3D Model	The version of the 3D model displayed on the web, created using photogrammetric methods, is provided for download in GLB format. This file contains a polygonal wireframe model of the object and is generally suitable for 3D printing. Download 3D Model
Images	Individual images can be downloaded via the arrow icon in the menu bar below the image view. The download includes the displayed image in medium resolution JPEG format, embedded in a ZIP container.
