Description Die Firma Argus begann 1935 mit der Entwicklung eines Verstellpropellers.Argus wählte ein einfaches mechanisches Verstellsystem. Es wird die für den Regelvorgang benötigte Verstellkraft durch eine vor der Propeller-Nabe angebrachte rotiernde Haube mit schräg angestellten Rippen erzeugt. Die Rippenhaube dreht sich im Fahrtwind aufgrund der schrägen Rippen gegenläufig zur Luftfschraube und erzeugt damit die Kraft für das Verstellen der Blätter je nach dem gewählten Kupplungseingriff.durch den Piloten.Der Argus-Verstellpropeller wurde vorzugsweise bei mit Argus-Flugmotoren ausgestatteten Reiseflugzeugen, wie z.B. die Messerschmitt Bf 108 "Taifun", verwendet.
