Description Die Maschine war bis 1885 in Eisleben zur Entwässerung eines Kupferbergwerks in Betrieb. Sie gilt als die älteste in Deutschland noch erhaltene Dampfmaschine. Ihre Bauart gleicht der ersten Wasserhaltungsmaschine in Preußen, die 1785 in Hettstedt errichtet worden ist. Die Maschine arbeitet nach dem Watt’schen Prinzip mit Niederdruck. In einer Minute kann sie rund 2000 Liter Wasser aus 40 Meter Tiefe fördern.
