Description Das mathematische Gipsmodell stellt eine Schraubenfläche mit konstanter positiver Krümmung dar. Das Gipsmodell entstammt einer Reihe von mathematischen Modellen, die unter Leitung von Prof. Dr. Brill an der TH München modelliert wurden. Die Modelle wurden später als Serie im Verlag Martin Schilling in Halle an der Saale hergestellt. Bei diesem Modell handelt es sich um Serie V, Nr. 3 der unter Brill entworfenen Gipsmodelle.
Die Schraubenfläche ist auf die drei Flächen der Modelle der Serie V, Nr. 2a bis 2c (Deutsches Museum, Inv.-Nr. 6458, 6459 und 6460) abwickelbar. Die Modelle der Reihe wurden großteils von Dr. Peter Vogel, einem Assistenten Brills, modelliert. Dieses Modell stammt jedoch von dem Studierenden Theodor Kuen.
